Today my practice centers largely on improving the health and vitality of women. My interest in alternative medicine began more than decade ago while I was an undergraduate at Barnard College, Columbia University. At that time I began investigating alternative medicine from an anthropological perspective while doing field research in Brazil.
Years later, as the Holistic Program Coordinator for Children with Cancer at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, I worked with a team of oncologists who repeatedly shared with me their high regard for acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. I became fascinated with the power of combining these practices with western medicine.
Subsequently, I began a three-year program at the New England School of Acupuncture in Watertown, Massachusetts. Along with acupuncture, my training focused on Chinese herbal medicine. After graduation I continued my herbal training in the lineage of Dr. Tao Xie, MD.
In the fall of 2004, while in my last year of acupuncture school, I became pregnant with my first child. As I experienced my pregnancy, birth and the post-partum period, I was awestruck by the rigor and beauty of this rite of passage.
Today I am referred to as Dr. Catherine Price, thought my passion is still the same as it was decades ago. In my practice I interact with individuals where I address a wide range of health concerns and am versatile in my ability to address healing from various perspectives. However, my expertise lies in treating the issues impacting women’s health and wellness, from obstetrics and gynecology, to infertility, insomnia, digestive issues, headaches & anxiety.
Please feel free to reach out to me, leave a comment or just say hello. I would love to hear from you.
